Born in Leicestershire in the heart
of the English countryside, Jacqui Sakowski is the sixth of eight
children in an entrepreneurial family. Her parents purchased their
first business, a retail newspaper and grocery store, in 1967.
They subsequently opened or purchased five more stores, as well
as adding event outlets and rental property to the mix. Four of
Jacqui's seven siblings have owned and operated their own businesses.
Jacqui chose a career in sales when she was just twelve years
old and fascinated by the interactions between her father and
the sales people who called on him. Her first sales position,
selling power tools for Black & Decker, made her one of just
six women in a sales force of 120 representatives. In 1987, she
moved into sales management, with Alfred Marks, the world's first
staffing agency. In 1992, she joined Robot (UK) Ltd., a small,
electronic security distribution company where, as General Manager,
she quadrupled sales in just two years. While still managing Robot,
she launched Pelco UK, in 1996, which turned sales of $1 million
in ten months.
In Spring 2005, Jacqui Sakowski became a citizen
of the United States.
